Shall we talk names?

No, we shall not.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything.
But its not happening. Yet.

I thought about posting about this before but I've been asked
a few times already and decided to explain myself.
As of now we have 50% of the names picked out.
Jeff is currently having trouble picking between two names
for our little boy.

Regardless,
we aren't planning on sharing them until they are born.
I know some people think its rude but I think its even more rude
when they offer their opinions on your choice and I really don't
understand why they do this. Thanks, but no thanks.
Once they are born and they are introduced into the world
as "little Shanny" and "little Jeff"
it will be done and they can't say anything.
Don't be worried though, I swear their names
are not weird. They are just for mommy and daddy to know.
Well, when Jeff finally decides...
then it will be for us to know for sure =)

I will say that the names we have in mind have always been
the names we loved. We didn't have to go crazy trying to figure them out.
Except for Jeff making the final call on our boy's name, of course.
He might want to wait until he sees him to see "who" he looks more like.
And let me tell you, this is seriously annoying
cause I can't call either of them by their names yet.
Nor can I personalize their nursery.
Yes, I know hers but it seems unfair to use her name and not his.
I have an "equal opportunity" complex.

If all else fails we will just call them by their original names:
Twin A and Twin B
and call it a day!

  1. We have girl and boy name picked out as well but aren't telling anyone either. People love to steal baby names and ours are really unique :) Don't let anyone pressure you.

  3. I'm a little sad that you are not sharing the names but it makes sense to wait until they are born, its a cute secret to have between you too :)

  4. I was so excited to read your title and then you broke my heart lol
So I'm guessing if he decides with enough time we won't see any nursery pics? I'm not sure if I want him to decide or not now!

  5. A friend of mine from high school did this, and my sister in law. However, they ended up giving the initials of the name for monogramming. . . I didn't like it at first but now I love the idea. I think it's one I'll use. Don't let anyone pressure you! It's your family. =)

  7. You have every right to keep their names private if you want to! I don't blame you. We have several ladies due in our church right around or before me and I will probably not even post our name choices on my blog for fear that they would find my blog and steal it! :) Unless this one particular girl who I am especially afraid of "stealing" my name has the opposite gender as me, and then no worries. :) But what about after the babies are born? Will you share their names on your blog then? :)

  9. Haha, I was so excited when I saw the title of this post as I thought you'd be revealing the names but alas, no. I understand and respect that though and can't wait to hear their perfect little names. Fortunately, we'll get a name with a face when the time comes for you to tell us. As in, YOU BETTER POST PICTURES :)

  10. I like this plan sweetie. It saves LOTS of trouble. My SIL told me she wanted to name my niece Zahara and stupid me gave her the "WTF!?" look and upset her. ((Thank the Good Lord she named her Reaghan in the end)). However, it's not up to me or anyone else what you name those sweet babies!!! Plus, it only adds to the excitement the day they are born!!

My husband's best friend waited until we were all at the hospital to announce they named their son after my husband and I swear, it was the most PRECIOUS thing.

Good for you for already practicing the Equal Opportunity Parenting method!!!! :)

  11. I don't blame you for keeping the names to yourself. When we were talking about names people always had something to say. Even though we didn't technically have name picked until the morning our daughter was born it was fun being able to keep something a surprise since we knew the gender.

  12. I totally agree, and think we'll keep our names private for that same reason...people always have an opinion!! Especially when it comes to family...i.e. my mom. I made the mistake of sharing my fav girl name and long story short she killed it for me, and now I don't even know if I could use it if I wanted to, ugh!!

  13. OMG: People do give some awful opinions on baby names. When I was pregnant with Zoe, Simone was one of the names we picked for a girl and one lady actually scrunged up her face and said "yuck, don't you dare name a girl Simone." Really? I don't know why people feel the need to be mean when it comes to baby names. Place nice people!
